Exposure and bonding of unerupted teeth for orthodontic treatment

Assisting you in getting a quality outcome.

Sometimes orthodontic treatment (braces) can involve exposure of your hidden or unerupted teeth so they can be pulled into alignment with your other teeth. This is an oral surgery procedure known as “exposure”. Frequently a small button will be bonded to the exposed tooth at the same time so that the dentist or orthodontist can connect it to your braces.

Exposure can frequently be done under local anaesthetic at the clinic. However, there are some cases where a general anaesthetic are required.
